A Tale of the Wire.

Like American artist Sandy Skoglund, JeeYoung Lee creates highly elaborate scenes that require an incredible amount of patience and absolutely no photo manipulation.
For weeks and sometimes months, the young Korean artist works in the confines of her small 360 x 410 x 240 cm studio bringing to life worlds that defy all logic.
My morning started out like any other day. Bike to the Bart station. Wait for the train and commute to work. Now today I had just missed the previous SFO train and had to wait 4 min for the next one. Once I boarded my train the Bart operator told us that the previous train had suffered equipment malfunctions and our train would be delayed. Delayed turned into everyone having to off board the train in Orinda and ultimately the whole station had to be evacuated and leaving many including myself stranded. Turns out the train I had missed had gotten stuck in the Caldecott tunnel and emergency services had to be called to help evacuate passengers. Without a car and no way to get to work I ended up having to bike 11 miles home in 29 degree weather. The ride was brisk yet beautiful…Never have I been so thankful to have missed a train. #fromwhereibike #reasonstobethankful #vscocam (at Mt Diablo Blvd)
